The innovative thermal modification process stabilizes the wood, making it less vulnerable to shrinking and seasonal expansion and contraction.
Next Generation Wood Cladding
UFP Edge wood cladding is modified with an all-natural heat and steam process that alters the wood's fiber cells. This process bakes the wood making it rich in color, resistant to rot, dimensionally stable, and lighter in weight with improved thermal insulation properties.

Prefinished Color That Will Last
- Thermally Modified Wood Collection cladding is prefinished in a controlled setting with a proprietary two-coat exterior coating. Over time the finish will require some maintenance/refinishing. Depending on the application and the amount of UV exposure, refinishing/maintenance may be needed within a few years. Stable With Minimal Cupping or Warping
- Expansion and contraction are greatly minimized through the thermal modification process. Slight movement can still occur, but it is significantly less than untreated wood.
