As a guy who loves the look and performance of cedar, it frustrates me to see how the category has changed. Cedar is still incredible – gorgeous, longlasting, tried and true. That said, due to a combination of supply challenges and duties, pricing has reached a point where the upper grades of cedar are only available for consumers with steep budgets. It’s a shame, because so many people crave the look, but get turned away by the price.

Knotty grades are still an option, but many consumers don’t want to make that aesthetic compromise. And in the clear wood siding space, most other products are even MORE expensive.
