Benchmark Ash has been awarded Class 1 Durability, promising 25+ years of rot resistance – durability that few products, natural or engineered, can truly compete with. This is a result of the thermal modification process.

Stunning Color Evolution
Benchmark Ash is a deep, rich chocolate brown color- the natural result of the thermal modification process. Over time and left untreated, it will slowly turn a stunning grey. To protect the color, simply oil with a UV protectant.

If the goal is to achieve a natural weathered silver, having a clear coat of oil factory applied is still the best way to protect your investment. Factory-applied oil protects all six sides of the wood and doesn’t need to slow down the aging process…it just helps the wood to age more gracefully from it’s day one rich browns (shown here) to a gorgeous silver while better withstanding the harsh weather conditions. It can be a one-time application to help your siding live its best life.
Thermory Vivid
Transform the look of thermally modified wood with Vivid by Thermory. Our translucent colors offer a semi-sheer finish, so you can still see the species’ natural wood grain and texture. This way, you get exactly the look you want from day one.
Stained: Russin Factory Finishing
Russin Factory Finishing gives you better results than field finishing — we apply coatings to precisely the manufacturer’s standards, evenly applied across all six sides, with consistency that simply cannot be achieved by hand. We’ll work with you to ensure we’re applying the right coating for your chosen substrate and delivering performance that exceeds the client’s expectations. Plus, it’s usually less expensive than finishing on site!

Wood’s natural aging process is influenced by how much exposure it has to the elements. The more Benchmark Ash is exposed to UV light and rain, the faster its color will transform from brown to silver—sometimes in as little as six months. To maintain your wood’s natural color outdoors, simply treat the boards with a penetrating UV protective oil.
